UK’s friendliest carp matches!
Marshals League
Our marshals’ own season-long competition.
Every Linear League round runs thanks to our marshals – weighing fish, checking sections and keeping the live scoreboard up to date. The Marshals League is their own competition, running alongside the main league across the whole 2027 season. A massive thank you to everyone who steps forward to help – including the competing pairs who swap their rods for the scales for a round!
Marshal just one round and you can reserve a place as a competing pair at whichever Linear League round you want – no queuing and no rushing at 7pm when tickets go on sale. Your space is guaranteed.
Tickets still need to be paid for, and the Brasenose 1 booking rule still applies.
What marshals get
- Free fishing from designated marshal pegs.
- £100 per pair towards food and fuel at every round.
- Entry into the Marshals League – £500 cash prize for the heaviest 5-fish total of the season.
- Guaranteed place – reserve your round as a competing pair without queuing for tickets (tickets still payable).
How the Marshals League works
- Each marshal’s 5 heaviest fish of the season count – a bigger fish replaces the smallest of your best 5.
- The first mission: get five fish on the scoreboard!
- Fish are added by the head marshal as they are weighed, so the table below updates straight away.
- Ties are split by the biggest fish, then the earliest caught.
Want to marshal in 2027?
We are looking for marshals to attend in pairs. We give priority to competing pairs, as we believe it helps build our fantastic community – but you don’t have to be competing. Whether you’d like to help, offset some of your fishing costs or simply stay involved in the action, we’d love to hear from you. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
To apply, email us at info@thebigguncarpcup.co.uk with your name, your marshalling partner’s name and which rounds you could help at.
